The container terminal is an extension to the existing 514.5 metre general cargo berths at the inner harbour basin. It consists of two container berths with a total linear length of 450 metres. The terminal is equipped with the latest and most modern port equipment and other supporting facilities with depth alongside of 14 metres and capable to handle vessel of up to 55,000 DWT. The terminal which was commissioned in 1999 is officially known as Bintulu International Container Terminal (BICT) and is the first dedicated container terminal in East Malaysia.
